AEW star says he will retire if he doesn’t win TNT Title tournament match on Dynamite | Wrestling News

All Elite Wrestling will be continuing its TNT Championship Tournament on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite when Dustin Rhodes takes on Kip Sabian while Sammy Guevara will face Darby Allin.

The winner of Rhodes-Sabian will take on Lance Archer while the winner of Guevara-Allin is slated to face Cody in the next round. As noted, the finals of the tournament take place at Double or Nothing on May 23 and will crown the inaugural champion.

AEW has released a clip from the latest “Road To” episode that is slated to premiere next Monday. During the clip, Dustin leaves Cody a voice message stating that if he can’t beat Sabian then he will retire from pro wrestling.

Thus, we could be getting a stipulation for the bout between them although AEW has yet to make that official.

“Hey man, it’s your big brother here. I want to run a couple of things by you. As you know, I soul-search every f*cking week, asking myself the question,’Can I still do this?’My soul searching has led me to this. This TNT Tournament is the most important thing I’ve done since wrestling you at Double or Nothing, hands down.

“To be the first TNT Champion means every frickin’ thing you can possibly imagine to me. One of the things I really want to discuss with you. I’d really like to talk with you instead of texting you this or voice mailing you this. Look, this guy Kip Sabian is no joke. If I cannot beat that son of a b**ch, I will retire. So give me a call back will you man. See you later buddy, I love you.”
